Guildwood Cat Relief is a small, private network of foster homes that work together to find loving, permanent homes for cats and kittens in need.
Our kitties come from east Scarborough and further afield and include many that have been abandoned or surrendered due to their owner's illness, allergies, loss of housing or financial crisis. Some are young and some are old; some are healthy and some need restorative veterinary care.

We would like you to know that while we wish we could respond to everyone personally, we're only able to reach out to applicants whose circumstances best match our cats' unique needs. We want to do the best for them, and finding the perfect match between our cats and their forever families is our top priority. Please allow 1 to 5 days for a reply from Guildwood Cat Relief. If you do not get a response, your application was likely denied.

I’m a sweetheart - gentle, loving, smart, social, and really motivated to bond with humans, whether adults or kids. I’m a true family cat: my favourite pastimes are rolling around in front of you to invite you to pet me, rearing up on my hind legs with you to ask you to pick me up, playing with you, stretching out on my back so I can have my tummy rubbed, watching the world outside from the comfort of the window sill, maybe saying hello to your friends – and being able to sleep on someone’s bed every night. She loves pets, and will even wait with eating dinner if you decide to pet her first! I’m an affectionate, loyal kitty with pretty green eyes who thinks human companionship is the best, and just loves pets and cuddles. I can be quiet and curious at first but soon you’ll discover that I love to play, both alone and with you. I even get the zoomies sometimes. Some of my favourite things are hanging out somewhere nearby while you work, enjoying my afternoon siesta on the sofa to the fullest, and watching the birds and the squirrels compete for the peanuts my foster home’s neighbours put out every day. But I’d give up bird-watching in a heartbeat for a forever home with a nice family!

Tokyo is beautiful, funny, and exceptionally intelligent. She's such devoted company that she'll even sit between the shower curtain and liner to keep you company while you wash up. Give her a brushing session and she'll be making an extra-big batch of biscuits. As your one-and-only personal greeter, she’s at the door when you come in; as your bed-time companion she'll let you know it’s time with a gentle tap, then tuck herself into the nook of your arm — though by morning you're more likely to find her stretched out on top of you. For exercise, she loves a game of "gonna getcha" — a bit of mutual stalking and chasing. You'll know she's ready to play when she charges at you crab-style, all puffed tail and sudden energy. Boswell is hard to miss. With his beautiful plume of a tail, his elegant body line and his penchant for gossamer-light goodnight kisses on your nose, he is pretty one-of-a-kind. Boswell craves communication with humans. Affectionate and especially smart, he’s a delightfully open book around you - he will jump up or walk in front of you to ask for play time, and nudge the cat-comb if it’s out and he thinks he may just be able to wheedle a comb-out session out of you. Mr. Personality is warm, good-natured and confident with everyone he meets, adults and children, and would absolutely thrive in a family environment where he could interact with humans and bask in as much attention as possible! A home where he gets to be the star of the show would suit him just fine - he will charm his way into every heart, and finally, feel secure knowing that he’s a real, almost-human member of the family!

Orion: Orion has one extra toe on each front paw which, as his foster mum likes to say, is just more of him to love. But his paws aren't the only thing that this handsome, smallish ginger tabby boy special. Orion is affectionate, easygoing and confident; he loves cuddles and pets, likes to snuggle into your chest, and doesn’t mind being picked up. He’ll also occasionally show you a quiet, reflective side that balances his happy-go-lucky kitty enthusiasm. Gentle and trusting like his brother Jasper, he is equally happy chasing a ball or taking an afternoon snooze on your bed. He and Jasper have been bonded since they were babies.
Jasper: Jasper started life looking like a bedraggled little frog, but he's blossomed into a beautiful swan — and an absolute snugglebug. Extra-toed like his brother, unlike many young cats, this calm, gentle boy isn't drawn to chaos or mischief. He'd much rather settle in beside you while you work or drape himself contentedly over your chest as you sleep. He enjoys playtime, whether with his brother or with you, and loves to try and nab a dangling wand toy. Gentle and trusting just like his brother Orion, Jasper is the sort of cat who is just a quiet, warm, devoted presence. He and Orion have been bonded since they were babies.

Meet Beckett — affectionately nicknamed "Rumpy" by his volunteers, a loving nod to his signature tail-free Manx behind. Companionable, social, smart, gentle Rumpy is a true personality. He loves rolling around beside you when you pet him, but he’s also happy tussling with his scratching post or role-playing with his toys - he makes a variety of entertaining little sounds as he parades around with one in his mouth. He and his best friend Faye are a beautiful reminder that love can find you at any age! Together they are looking for the finer things in life: a comfy spot to lovingly groom each other or do some synchronized afternoon napping, some peaceful bird-watching windows, and a quiet home they can liven ever so slightly with the comfortable sound of double purrs.
Faye:
Faye is a relaxed, affectionate, gentle lady who will talk contentedly to you from her comfortable armchair and will follow you for pets and cuddles if she sees you are in the mood. She happily makes biscuits on you or anything else available and does enjoy sleeping on that extra bed pillow of yours at night. She and her best friend Beckett are a beautiful reminder that love can find you at any age! Sawney: This always good-natured, intelligent boy will follow you around hoping for pets and cuddles, and flop at the drop of a hat. He loves to lie in boxes and bags and is sweet and docile with his humans, although very occasionally he can be seen inexplicably racing around with the zoomies. Sawney just wants to bond with his humans, sleep on their bed and become a valuable member of the family. He is one of those kitties whose personality somehow stays with you. He'd love to be adopted with his little sister Reyna to a quiet, adult home.
Reyna: I am a loving, gentle, sunny little soul who may be miniature in size but makes up for it in loyalty and companionship. Smart and sweetly vocal (especially at dinnertime), I love to sleep beside you by night and help you work by day by just quietly being somewhere close. I'd be tickled pink if I could be adopted together with my brother Sawney to a quiet, adult home.

Cousins Nicole and Martin are gentle, trusting and affectionate kitties, small in build, who love to come for pets and cuddles when they see you are available. A wide-eyed, feminine sort of little girl, Nicole likes to interact with her humans on a bed, sofa or chair as opposed to the floor, while Martin is straightforward and enthusiastic about treats anywhere! Both can usually be found hanging out somewhere near you, not necessarily together but aware of each other’s location. Sweetly bonded as they are, they would really like to be adopted together to a quiet adult home.
